A strategic and resourceful human-first thinker, the Chief Financial Officer will direct and oversee multiple financial and administrative areas within our family of affiliated companies. This includes the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and forecasting to predict future growth.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Assist in formulating the company’s strategic direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
Develop financial and tax strategies.
Lead the organization through the business and budget planning cycle.
Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company’s strategic direction.
Identify opportunities for expansion.
Participate in key decisions as a member of the Leadership Team.
Maintain relationships with all members of the management team.
Coordinate with the Controller to help drive process, efficiency, and technology enhancement projects within the accounting team.
Oversee the company’s finance IT system.
Supervise M&A acquisition due diligence and negotiations, as needed.
Analyze operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
Monitor cash balances and cash flow projections. Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations.
Study long-range economic trends and project their impact on future growth revenue and market share.
Manage relationships with treasury and banking contacts, as needed.
Maintain an understanding of loan and legal documents.
Supervise a team of 3-5 accounting professionals.
Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile.
Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry.
Construct and monitor reliable control systems.
Maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies, as necessary.

Education and Experience
Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
Eight years of experience in financial management required.
Three to five years of supervisory experience required.
Basic knowledge of commercial real estate and construction accounting required.
