Acquisitions Associate - Commercial Real Estate

As an Acquisitions Associate, you will assist principals and senior management with all aspects of the real estate acquisition lifecycle. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Responsibilities:
  • Perform analysis of acquisition and development opportunities using financial modeling with a combination of Argus and Excel software.
  • Create and present investment decks and summaries to Investment Committee.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and other real estate practitioners to research and source new investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with various departments (Architecture, Construction, Brokerage, Property Management, etc.) to ensure successful implementation of business plans.
  • Aid Investor Relations in raising equity from retail investors, family offices, and institutions.
  • Assist with due diligence processes – which include but are not limited to performing document control, lease abstracting, reviewing property and tenant financials, inspecting estoppels & SNDAs, and reviewing third party reports.
  • Perform comprehensive market research to identify and support new investment decisions.
  • Prepare presentation materials and proposals with the marketing department, such as investment offerings and loan request packages to deliver to prospective clients and lenders.
  • Produce/deliver requested materials to various third-party entities as needed.
  • Work independently and demonstrate ability to provide strategic analysis and recommendations.
  • Communicate all updates, issues and risks affecting the projects to appropriate team members.
  • Contribute to regular client investment updates, including quarterly asset updates.
  • Work alongside the asset management team in business plan execution and reporting when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Real Estate
  • Commercial real estate experience required.
  • Prior experience with Argus Enterprise software required.
  • 1-3 years related experience in real estate or in a financial analysis role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. 
  • Experience with Office, Industrial, Flex, Multifamily, and Mixed-Use property types preferred.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
